Spiral Process Therapy

Hello,

I'm Char Campos Perez

AMFT # 155775

Healing does not happen in isolation, it happens through connection to yourselves, to others, and to the communities that sustain us. It begins when your whole self is welcomed, alongside the relationships that shape you.

I am a trauma-informed therapist working with adolescents (15+), individuals, and couples. I draw from relational-cultural therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, decolonial frameworks, and liberation psychology, integrating these with my experience as a community organizer to create a relational, culturally responsive, and equity-centered space. Together, we explore your inner experience alongside how power, identity, and systemic harm shape how you show up, connect, and make meaning in your life.

Hello,

I'm Char Campos Perez

My Approach:

I approach this work through anti-oppressive, abolitionist, intersectional, and healing- and disability-justice lenses. I recognize the colonial and carceral roots of therapeutic institutions and the ways pathologization has been used to control, marginalize, and disconnect people from themselves and their communities. Guided by these frameworks, I work with people most impacted by systemic harm, including QT BIPOC individuals, chronically ill and/or disabled people, organizers and activists, immigrant and refugee communities, mixed-status and undocumented communities, and those who have experienced childhood trauma or adversity. I also support individuals navigating complex trauma, including domestic violence, and prolonged exposure to unsafe or unstable conditions. My approach is grounded in cultural humility, affirmation, and deep respect for the resilience and survival strategies developed within oppressive systems.

In therapy, I meet you where you are. Together, we explore patterns of connection and disconnection, honor protective strategies, strengthen relational capacity, and make space for parts of you that may have been minimized, silenced, or misunderstood. With adolescents, this often means supporting identity development, emotional expression, and relational safety during a formative stage of life. With individuals and couples, it means deepening understanding, authenticity, and connection within yourself and your relationships.

Therapy with me is collaborative rather than prescriptive. I do not view clients as problems to be fixed, but as people navigating complex relational, cultural, and systemic realities. I view this work as relational and collective: much of our spiritual, emotional, and interpersonal suffering is rooted in violent systems rather than personal inadequacy. I approach therapy as a co-conspirator in healing, working toward not only individual well-being, but also connection and liberation for our communities.
